Today's traffic becomes at times an inversion of its sole purpose:
time saving through motorized enhancement of mobility.
The bike messenger is an economic and ecologic solution to the inefficiency of delivering small goods and documents within short but crowded distances in cities.
The installation Niko-Kino is a POV-projection of a head cam the bike messenger was wearing during his shift. This subjective visual experience is put in context with objective factual data displayed by four additional screens:
* vertical wheel cam pointed towards street
* actual movement on the city map
* calculation of distances travelled
* excerpts of every-day-small-talk-routine
The arrangement in a dark booth resembles a cockpit and is perceived much like the viewing port of a first person game.
